Gaining knowledge of other countries and acquiring the ability to work with people from other cultures are critical to our economic future. We facilitate the visits of United States Department of State-sponsored leadership groups to Birmingham, and offer connectivity to various cultural organizations. All gifts help Birmingham International Center maintain exhibitions, acquire materials, and develop programming.

Adopt-A-Box Campaign
Adopt-a-Box and inspire a life-long journey in the hearts and minds of Alabama’s kids!
Arts in Education is an award-winning program that aids Alabama educators in teaching their students about the art and culture of a different spotlight country each year. The program is multi-faceted, and includes in-school performances, professional development workshops for teachers, special workshops for art educators, and a specifically-developed classroom curriculum.
How can you help?
You can adopt a curriculum box for only $25, ensuring that an Alabama classroom will receive the spotlight curriculum, and other teaching aids like maps or items donated from the spotlight country, to use all year long in their studies.
You can even personalize your box!
Your Adopt-a-Box will bear your name and a special message if you wish. You can even make your gift of an Adopt-a-Box in honor or memory of someone special to you…perhaps a teacher who sparked your interest in art, geography, world history, or learning in general, or a special friend or family member.
It’s tax-deductible ! Click here to adopt your box today.
